Who I am connects with the You I've never met.
Let's not forget,
the segregation-transportation
landing Us on one plantation
or another
in one place on the planet or another that was farther
from home than we chose to roam
on our own!
Who I am inside
connects with the fury in your eyes.
And the pride undefeatable,
the spirit unbeatable
that is You
is in Me too.
When I sit alone
reflecting on your picture,
I am reflecting on my own
in the cosmic mixture
where I am not alone.
Home is indeed where the heart remains,
and we can always go back again...
